HELEN ON THE FARM
I was born and raised on a small European style farm where we had a little bit of everything. I had a great childhood. My Grandparents lived right next door and our house was built by my Dad. We were 8 in our family and had lots of adventures growing up. In July 1977, I moved only 3 miles, as the crow flies, to a larger farm when I married a cattle farmer who now only grows grain crops. We have 3 beautiful and successful children and this year all of them will be married. We are also blessed with two amazing grandchildren from our oldest daughter. They all give us so much joy, laughter and love.
Art will always be a part of my life. I have so many family and friends around me that enjoy all types of art including three siblings and my second daughter who are fabulous artists. I am self-taught artist. I enjoy painting different personalities of animals in wildlife and nature. I draw inspiration from the life and family in which surrounds me to create vivid images the beauty that family and farms can bring. Watercolour, acrylic, encaustic and oil some of the mediums I have used. But lately alcohol ink on ceramic tiles has really piqued my interest. Using different kinds of wood to display my ceramic tiles has created a new adventure for me teaching me to work with a new and different medium. Now finally my thoughts are, why not, it’s truly time to share my art.
Thank you for taking your time to see my work and I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy making them. Helen Lavin

Fine Art Gallery Space
So many shows have graced our walls over the last ten years. Many emerging artists were given a hand up in the local (and worldwide) art community at our gallery. We are proud to have been part of so many artists' careers and lives. Our first show (Saverpierre Maggio & Iosif Derecichei) was a fantastic success and opened our doors to more shows, including experimental and multimedia exhibitions. The history of our gallery will be celebrated this year at our 10 year anniversary with even more up-and-coming artists and established masters.
